Overview: This course is designed to provide the public educator, inspector, firefighters and fire chief with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully educate industrial workers with life safety information of specific hazards in the industrial plant. For those who practice the multidiscipline profession of fire and life safety education (including uniformed fire service personnel and other professionals) topics include myths about industrial fires and explosions, major causes of industrial fires and explosions, combustible dust, hot work, flammable liquids and gasses, equipment and machinery, electrical hazards education and prevention. This course serves as an entry level to Fire & Life Safety Educator, Fire Inspectors, Fire Chiefs, and personnel involved in education on the risks in the industrial setting and offers information to assist in the reduction of fire and explosion risks.
