CF252-08 - Before the Tones: The Fire Service Guide to CRR

Before the Tones: The Fire Service Guide to CRR

Overview: Community Risk Reduction (CRR) has become one of the most discussed topics in today’s fire service, yet it is also one of the least understood. Many firefighters, officers, and chiefs view CRR as another program, another division, or another responsibility added to an already demanding profession. This course challenges that perception. Before the tones demonstrates that Community Risk Reduction is not a new mission, it is another way to accomplish the mission the fire service has always embraced: saving lives and protecting property. Community Risk Reduction is a proven process that strengthens the fire service by helping departments protect their communities before, during and after emergencies. Using national recognized CRR principles, Tennessee resources, proven case studies, and practical fire service examples, this course simplifies the Community Risk Reduction process while inspiring buy-in from every level of the organization. Students will leave understanding that CRR is not replacing suppression-it strengthens it.
