CF245-01 - Fire Inspection Priorities in Different Occupancies

Fire Inspection Priorities in Different Occupancies (3)

Overview: This course covers the code requirements respective to different occupancy classifications in the 2018 International Fire Code, 2018 International Building Code. Inspection of any occupancy requires a comprehensive understanding of the context of that occupancy that must be based on the Occupancy Classifications sections of IBC Chapter 3 and IFC Chapter 2. Other considerations will come from IBC chapter 4 as well as other parts of the ICC codes containing less concentrated occupancy and use-specific requirements. Upon such an inspection, pre-conceived criteria must already be in the mind of the inspector which drive that inspector to verify code-compliance in every area of the structure. This course will help the students categorize these priorities which drive the most effective inspections on the buildings, structures, and facilities within the inspector’s jurisdiction.
