Overview: This training program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, evaluate, and document common fire suppression system requirements during fire and life-safety inspections. The course focuses on automatic sprinkler systems and related components, with an emphasis on understanding the purpose, operation, inspection requirements, and common deficiencies associated with water-based fire suppression systems. Participants will examine the relationship between building use, occupancy hazards, sprinkler system design, water supplies, system components, and required protection. Participants will also learn to recognize conditions that may indicate a system has been impaired, altered, obstructed, or otherwise compromised.
