Overview: This training program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to recognize, evaluate, and document fire alarm system conditions during fire and life-safety inspections. Emphasis will be placed on the inspection and testing process. Participants will examine the purpose, components, operation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and signaling systems. Examine how fire alarm requirements are established based on occupancy, building characteristics, occupant characteristics, hazards, and applicable code provisions. Participants will learn how to recognize common deficiencies without exceeding the inspector's scope of responsibility and how to determine when a condition requires evaluation or correction by a qualified fire alarm professional.
