Working for a Healthier Tennessee has created activities and challenges for each of our focus areas. You can use these as-is or customize them for your agency. To request a challenge from the list below, email WFHT.TN@tn.gov.

Once you've completed an activity or challenge, please ask participants to fill out this post-activity survey so we can create the best possible wellness programs and activities for you. 

  • Random Acts of Emotional Support: This activity focuses on showing genuine support for someone who is having a hard time with something, whether at work or home. Showing support for others can take many forms. In any form, your efforts can help uplift someone and improve their outlook and general wellness.
  • Random Acts of Wellness: This low-cost, but very visible and motivating way to recognize and show your support for employees who are working hard to adopt healthy behaviors.
  • S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting Worksheet: Complete this worksheet by creating a S.M.A.R.T. goal you wish to accomplish.

  • Alternative WELLNESS Solutions Week: Celebrate wellness anywhere by encouraging daily activities around healthy eating, physical activity, tobacco cessation and/or well-being.
  • Be Kind to Your Mind Wellness Week: Self-care is not selfish. While it's important to show others kindness, you should also be mindful that your needs are critical. During this wellness week, you'll complete at least one daily activity.
  • Healthy Habits Scavenger Hunt: Have fun at home with this Healthy Habits Scavenger Hunt. See if you can "collect" all items in one week!
  • How to Host a Wellness Week: Celebrate wellness at work by encouraging daily activities related to healthy eating, physical activity, tobacco cessation and/or well-being.
  • ICU (I See You) Challenge: "ICU" is a workplace awareness campaign designed to decrease the stigma associated with mental health and foster a workplace culture that supports emotional health. Together, we can encourage people in emotional distress to reach out for help!
  • Just Breathe: This one-week activity helps participants decrease stress by learning and practicing different breathing techniques.
  • National Health Education Week: Help employees increase their health literacy during National Health Education Week, which is the third week of October. This can be celebrated any time of the year.
  • Tag You're It!: Increase healthy habits during the workday with your co-workers by completing one of the listed activities, then "tagging" another employee. 
  • Let's Let Go Activity: Did you know you can productively worry? In this activity, participants will allot time each day to think about any worries on their mind. This allows them to be productive about their worries and figure out any plan of action if the worry is in their control.
  • Be Your Best Self Challenge: Engage in a variety of healthy habits that allow you to be the best version of yourself.
  • Catch Some Rays Challenge: The goal is to get outside for up to 15 minutes daily to soak up the health benefits of sunlight (vitamin D).
  • Happiness Challenge: Complete daily activities that support a happier and more fulfilling lifestyle!
  • Screen-Free Challenge (Screen-Free ActivitiesHow to Check Screen Time): The goal of this challenge is to reduce your screen time and increase your screen-free activities over the course of two weeks. Each day, you'll list two screen-free activities you completed and your total screen time.
  • Shred Your Stress Challenge: Complete daily activities to help shred your stress.
  • Sound Sleep Challenge: Get practice with healthy sleep habits to get an optimal night's rest!
  • Waste Less Challenge: Interested in reducing the amount of food your household wastes week-to-week? This three-week challenge is for you!
  • 10-Minute Challenge: Practice healthy behaviors by eating healthier and moving more, just 10 minutes at a time!
  • Celebrate a Healthier You Challenge: Complete daily activities for a healthier you and earn a maximum of 30 points.
  • Financial Fitness Challenge: Determine your financial health by creating a budget and gaining an understanding of your spending and saving habits.
  • Get Outdoors Challenge: Uncover ways to get outdoors and enjoy the health benefits of nature.
  • Give Me a Break Challenge: Use breaks in your workday to practice healthier habits that help increase activity and relaxation to boost your energy levels and refresh you.
  • Healthy Habits Challenge: By the end of this challenge, participants will be working on four different healthy habits for better health and wellness.
  • Healthy Holidays Challenge: Maintain your healthy habits during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season in this challenge.
  • Healthy Weight Challenge: Help participants achieve a healthier weight realistically by practicing moderation and balance in this challenge.
  • Mind-Body Wellness Challenge: Participate in different weekly activities to increase your mental and physical health. The first two weeks of the challenge will focus on the mind aspect of mind-body wellness, and the last two weeks will focus on the body aspect.
  • Mindful Meditations Challenge: Integrate meditations into your day to maintain productivity while remaining calm and focused, using LinkedIn Learning.
  • Mindfulness RENEW Challenge: Practice various mindfulness exercises while aiming to complete one mindful activity a day.
  • Paving a Positive Pathway: Get help with creating a more positive mindset by encouraging participation in simple positive habits.
  • Resilience at Work Challenge: Build and reinforce ways to nurture your resiliency (a.k.a. "inner strength") in your work life.
  • Road to Wellness Challenge - Take a journey through six dimensions of wellness to achieve your optimal health. The goal of this self-paced challenge is to focus on making healthy challenges that you can maintain long-term.
  • Self-Care BINGO - Engage in more self-care activities for optimal health by aiming to complete the activities in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row.
  • S.M.A.R.T. Goal Challenge  - Create a personalized health-related goal to work on daily, and track your progress over the course of four weeks.
  • Spring Into Action Challenge - Embrace the longer days of the spring season by taking small, intentional actions that support your mind, body and spirit.
  • Weight Loss Challenge - Aim to achieve a healthier weight realistically by practicing moderation and balance in this challenge.
