Region 2 Dove Fields

Current fields as of August 31, 2018. Please check this page often for changes and additions.

Remember shotgun plugs and Migratory Bird Permit. Hunter Education required for those born on or after January, 1, 1969.

Unless otherwise listed, dove hunting open with statewide seasons and bag limits.

Leased field information is listed below by county.

Crops planted:   50 acres wheat​ -- top sown   

Hunt Dates:  Open with statewide seasons. (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1)

Directions: (Coffee County) - Take Exit 114 off of I-24 to Hwy. 41 south. Turn left onto Asbury Road, then onto Clifton Scott Road. Turn right onto Warren Road and Bark Camp Barrens WMA is on the left. There will be dove field signs starting on Asbury Road.

Crops planted: 22 acres of millet burned.

Hunt Dates: Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1). Hunting allowed from designated fields only.

Directions: (Cheatham County) - Hwy 49 at Little Bluff Creek

Crops planted:   20 acres of wheat top sown.

Hunt Dates:   Youth hunt is on Sept. 8 (email signup required -- Register for Youth Hunt) .  Only 49 staked positions available.  Morning hunt is for the registered youth hunters.  Afternoon hunt is for all youths without registration.  Only one gun per staked position.    

Sunday, Sept. 9 is closed to hunting, Sept. 10 and every Saturday thereafter of the 1st segment open to all ages.  All hunting is on designated field only.

Directions: (Williamson County) - From 840, take Exit 42 South (Lewisburg/Shelbyville) on Hwy. 31A/41A. Stay on Hwy. 31A/41A and when you come to the Hwy. 31A/41A split, take Hwy. 31A and go 0.7 mile. The dove field will be on the left (east side).

Crops planted: 20 acres of sunflowers. 

Hunt Dates: Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1).  Hunting allowed from designated fields only. 

Directions: (Montgomery County) - At the end of Woodrow Road in the Dodsonville Community.

Crops planted :  50 acres of wheat, 50 acres of millet, 50 acres of sunflowers.

Hunt Dates:  Same as statewide season, except closed at sunset the day before and during big game hunts. (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1)  Hunting allowed in designated fields only.  No one is allowed on the field or to reserve hunting spots by placement of dove buckets before 8:30 am opening day.

Directions: (Lawrence County) Napier Rd. Behind old checking Station (291 Napier Rd Lawrenceburg TN is address next door). From Summertown, take Hwy. 20 to State Road 240. Go approximately 8.5 miles and turn right on State Road 241 North. Go approximately 3 miles.

Crops planted:   15 acres of sunflowers, 15 acres of wheat--top sown

Hunt Dates:  Youth Dove Hunt on Barton's Creek (youth only)-Sept 8(6:00 am-sunset). Opens to everyone Sept 10 and every Wednesday and Friday-Sunday during first segment of statewide season. Staked positions will be assigned by a drawing held on-site at 6 a.m. and hunters must check out at the conclusion of their hunt. Registration begins at 5:30am.  Lead shot permitted. Each young sportsman must be accompanied by an adult who may also hunt.  

Directions: Located off North Denny Road in Wilson County.

Crops planted:   20 acres of millet, 10 acres of wheat--top sown

Hunt Dates:  Sept. 8th - Young Sportsman Only.   Sept. 9th open to all ages through the remainder of the season.  Each young sportman (6-16 years of age) must be accompanied by a licensed non-hunting adult.

Directions: From I-24, take Exit 127 and follow Hwy. 64/50 west approximately 15 miles. Exit onto Hwy. 41A/64 North (Cowan Hwy.). Go 2.5 miles to Winchester Square. Follow Hwy. 50 West signs approximately 4 miles. Turn right on Maple Bend Road. The field is 1 mile ahead at the end of Maple Bend Road. (the road will turn from pavement to gravel).

Crops planted:   43 acres of top sown wheat. 

Hunt Dates:   Opens September 1 (noon - sunset). Shooting from staked positions only.   On September 1, staked positions will be assigned by a drawing held on-site  and hunters must check out at the conclusion of their hunt.  Registration for the drawing will begin at 7am and drawing will be held onsite at 10am.   Successful applicants must be at their staked positions at the start of shooting hours.   Open Saturdays and Sundays only during the first and second segments. 

Directions: (Davidson/Rutherford/Wilson counties) From Nashville, take I-24 east to Exit 64 (Waldron Rd.); turn right off the exit; turn right on Murfreesboro Rd; turn left on Fergus Road at a Clayton Mobile Homes Sales Park; go 3/4 mile and turn right on Jones Mill Rd; follow the dove hunting signs.

North (Upper) Field:

Crops planted:  21 acres of bushogged sunflowers and 21 acres of wheat

Hunt Dates:   FIELD IS CLOSED on SEPT. 1 -- Opens Sept. 15th,  stake positions, & thereafter every Saturday during the 1st segment. Statewide season during the second segment.  ONLY 53 Stake sites available

Directions:  From Columbia, take Hwy. 50 to Williamsport.  Cross the Duck River Bridge and turn right on Snow Creek Road. Go a few miles and turn left onto Leiper's Creek Road (this is the 1st left). The dove field will be down the road a few miles on the left. Look for signs.

South (Lower) Field:

Crops planted:  17 acres of bush hogged sunflowers and top-sown wheat

Hunt Dates:   FIELD IS CLOSED on SEPT. 1 -- Opens Sept. 15th, only open on Saturdays during the first segment. Open with statewide season during the second segment.

Hunt Dates:   September 1 (noon - sunset), open every day with statewide seasons.

Directions:  (Maury County) - From Nashville, take I-65 south to Hwy. 50. Go west on Hwy. 50 until you reach Fred White Road. Turn right onto Fred White Road. Go down the road until you see the parking lot signs. The field is on both sides of Fred White Road just before you get to the Howard Bridge. Parking is allowed only in two designated parking lots. No parking on the side of the road.

Stanley Pickett

Crops planted:   25 acres of chopped corn and top sown wheat.

Hunt Dates:   Sept. 1 (Noon), 2, 3, 8

Directions:   From the intersectin of Hwy 50 & 121 take Hwy 121 5.1 miles to Neal Rd on the right. Take Neal Rd for .2 miles to the field on the left.

Hunt Dates:   Sept. 1 (Noon), 2, 3, 8

Directions:  From Hwy 50 take Hwy 121 4.1 miles and follow the signs for the field on the left.

Directions:  Field is at corner of HWY 64W and Robertson Rd. Parking on Robertson RdFrom Lawrenceburg at 43S and Hwy 64 Junction take 64W approximatley 8.5 miles, to Robertson Rd. Turn Left on Robertson Rd., Field on left

Directions:   From Fayetteville take US 64 E 13 miles to Elora Rd. Field is .5 miles on the right.

Directions:   From I65 take exit 22 and follow 31A north towards Cornersville for approx. 2 miles and turn right on New Ostella Rd. Go 1.2 miles, watch for signs.

Riley Brothers LLC

Crops planted:   40 acres of top sown wheat.

Hunt Dates:   Sept. 1 (Noon), 3, 8     NOON START TIME EACH HUNT DAY

Directions:   PARK ON SIDES OF GRAVEL ROAD BY DOVE FIELD.   From HWY 41 N in Adams, turn down Bellar Rd for .4 miles and turn left on Bellar Ln for .5 miles.

Bone Field

Crops planted:   40 acres of cut beans/millet hay.   

Hunt Dates:   Saturday, September 1 (noon - sunset); Monday, Sept. 3 and Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.   Hunting will begin at noon on Sept. 1. NO PREPOSITIONING of hunting equipment prior to the field opening. Fields will be open for normal legal hunting hours on Sept. 3, 8.  PLEASE remove all litter TO INCLUDE SPENT SHELLS after hunting. Only park in the designated parking area.  NO DRIVING ON TO THE FIELD. No drugs or alcohol allowed on the leased property

Directions:  From I40 Exit 239 (Watertown/Hwy. 70) in Lebanon, go ).north to Carthage Hwy. (approx. 1.5 mi.), turn right on to Carthage Hwy. and head east to Spring Creek Rd. (approx. 2.75 mi.), turn left on to Spring  Creek Rd. following TWRA signs to the dove field on the left (approx. 1.5 mi.).

Howard Field

Crops planted:   15 acres of harvested corn and top sown wheat.

Hunt Dates:  Saturday, September 1 (noon - sunset); Monday, Sept. 3 and Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.    Hunting will begin at noon on Sept. 1.
