Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission August 2026 Meeting

At its Meeting on Friday, August 21, 2026, the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission will consider the following Rules and Regulations:

1. No Wake Zone Creation  (Pine Lake-Beech River Watershed - Rule Chapter No.1660-02-07)

CWD Informational Meeting

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the University of Tennessee are hosting a public informational meeting to address questions regarding chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Middle Tennessee.

Public Comment Opportunities 

TWRA Requests Public Input for 2027-28 Fishing Regulations

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is seeking public comments on the 2027-28 fishing regulations.

This comment period, open from Wednesday, July 15, through Thursday, August 16, 2026, allows anglers and stakeholders to share feedback and suggestions with TWRA staff.

Proposed regulation changes will be presented at the December meeting of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TFWC).  An additional public comment period will follow TWRA’s presentation to the Commission.

Approved regulations will take effect August 1, 2027.

TWRA Black Bass Management Plan

We are seeking your input on TWRA's Black Bass Management Plan. This plan reflects a collaborative effort between the public and TWRA staff. Stakeholders identified key goals through an online poll, angler survey, and advisory committee, while TWRA developed the corresponding objectives and strategies. Public values were incorporated throughout the process to ensure the plan aligns with the priorities of Tennessee’s anglers and communities. Please ensure that you have reviewed the Key Areas, Goals, Objectives, and Strategies before providing your input.

Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Agricultural Land for Lease – Laurel Hill Wildlife Management Area

The TWRA is accepting bids for agricultural land leases at Laurel Hill Wildlife Management Area in Lawrence County.

TWRA intends to award 5-year revenue leases on approximately 34 acres of agricultural land.

* Bids accepted: September 8,2026 – September 22, 2026
* Bid opening: September 23, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
