SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has announced the temporary closure of a portion of Montgomery Fork Road within the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area (WMA) after recent rain events caused significant erosion and a hazardous road washout.
WHITE PINE, Tenn. — Leadvale Access Area on Douglas Lake has temporarily reopened to provide public water access while crews await materials needed to finish repairs from Hurricane Helene. Once the remaining material arrives, the access area will need to close again for approximately one week so crews can complete work to restore safe, long‑term access.
Renovations of the boat ramp and dock at the Winchester City Park on Tims Ford Lake are nearing completion. Currently, the new sixty-foot-wide ramp is open for use. Placement of courtesy docks and bank armoring began the week of April 6 and is slated to be completed by May 1, 2026.

These areas have been closed since July 7, 2025, due to several projects aimed at improving accessibility and functionality. Improvements include renovating the parking area and lowering the lake water level to enhance the fishing habitat. The goal of these upgrades is to improve both the fishing experience and overall visitor enjoyment.
