Marc Williams
A 2026 awardee of Youth Minds United Dedicated Star award, and a 2025 awardee of the Memphis Elegance Awards Impressionable Youth award, Marc Williams serves as the Student Board Member for the Tennessee State Board of Education for the 2026-2027 term, as well as the 2026-2027 Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) Student Congress On Policies and Education (SCOPE) President. He brings to this board a dedicated student perspective to statewide educational governance and policy, helping to shape the present and future of public education in Tennessee.
Mr. Williams is native to Memphis, where he is deeply rooted in educational, local, and state civic leadership. His advocacy is centered on strengthening student representation in institutional decision making, advocating for student centered education policy, and expanding civic engagement experiences for students across Tennessee. Along with his statewide offices, he also holds multiple local and non-governmental offices. From being a Memphis-Shelby County Schools Student Board Member, a youth representative for Shelby County Commission District 10 with Shelby County Youth Council, a member of MSCS Student Congress, the Director of Civic Engagement with Youth Minds United, and a former member of MSCS Legacy Builders, in which Mr. Williams was advising a former incoming superintendent of MSCS, he tackled many youth-centered issues, from youth mental health, intergenerational collaboration, youth influence in educational decisions, equitable education, and many more.
A student at Hollis F. Price Middle College High School pursuing dual-enrollment coursework at LeMoyne-Owen College, Mr. Williams is committed to building a collaborative bridge between students, educators, and policymakers to shape the future of public education in Tennessee. He also holds multiple certifications from many different entities, like the United Nations, the National Association of Parliamentarians, FEMA, and more, backed by 84 hours of Youth Leadership Training.
When he is not in the boardroom or advocating for his fellow students, he helps develop his fellow peers. A Fall 25’ Inductee of the Memphis Alumni Chapter of Kappa League, where he formerly served as Vice-Chair of the Programming Committee, and was elected Secretary of the League in May of 2026, he is committed to developing his brothers along the 7 Phases of Kappa League. In his free time, he explores his passions for aviation and meteorology.
