Governing Body Training Requirements

In accordance with State Board Rule 0520-14-01-.07, charter school governing body members must meet specific training requirements by June 30 each year. New governing body members shall complete a minimum of six (6) hours of training within twelve (12) months of joining the governing body and experienced governing body members shall complete a minimum of four (4) hours of training each year. State Board Policy 6.112 provides the list of training courses approved for charter school governing body members.

Course Provider Application

Prospective training course providers shall submit an application for approval to the State Board by February 15 each year for courses that will be offered beginning July 1 of that same year. If the application deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the application will be due by the next business day. Training courses which meet the requirements set forth in State Board Rule and recommended by the State Board's Advisory Committee shall be submitted for State Board approval by May 1.
