School Board Training Advisory Committee
In accordance with State Board Rule 0520-01-02-.11, the School Board Training Advisory Committee is responsible for evaluating and recommending training courses for local school board members to the State Board for approval. State Board Rule outlines the specific training course requirements for new and experienced board members and the timeline for approving new training courses annually. State Board Policy 2.100 includes the list of approved training courses for local school board members to complete their annual training requirement.
The School Board Training Advisory Committee is also responsible for reviewing and recommending for State Board approval training courses for charter school governing body members. Course Provider Application
Prospective training course providers shall submit an application for approval to the State Board by February 15 each year for courses that will be offered beginning July 1 of that same year. If the application deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the application will be due by the next business day. Training courses which meet the requirements set forth in State Board Rule and recommended by the State Board's Advisory Committee shall be submitted for State Board approval by May 1.
