A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Mr. Darrell Cobbins earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rhodes College in 1997, majoring in Sociology & Anthropology. In 2005, Darrell attended a week-long executive course at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, focused on strategies for government performance and leadership. In 2007, he earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Fogelman College of Business at the University of Memphis. A third-generation real estate professional, he serves as President of Universal Commercial Real Estate, LLC, a commercial real estate firm he founded in 2007. Previously, he served for six years as Vice President at Cushman & Wakefield/Commercial Advisors, a top-tier Memphis firm, where he worked in commercial real estate brokerage and corporate real estate advisory services, serving many of Memphis’ most notable corporations and institutions. Prior to entering the commercial real estate arena, Darrell worked in economic development with the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce, where he was Senior Resource Development Officer, sharing the economic growth vision for the Memphis community with business owners and executives, securing their investment in the Chamber. Mr. Cobbins is a recognized leader in his community, he presently is the 2013 Chairman of the New Memphis Institute (formerly the Leadership Academy), one of Memphis’ most important civic organizations for leadership and talent development and retention.
