Documents in Other Languages

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Division of Underground Storage Tanks (Division) translated materials for three additional languages, Gujarati, Oromo, and Spanish. The Division expanded translated material offerings from 6 languages to 9 languages.

Updated annually, the translated materials are a part of a Compliance Toolbox of documents, forms, guidance, rules, etc. that is mailed via a flash drive to all regulated Tennessee UST owners. The toolbox is also available for downloading on the Division’s toolbox website.

Additionally, the Google Translate tool (133 languages) is available at the footer of all TDEC web pages.

TDEC also utilizes the statewide contract with Covendis Technologies sub-vendors TransPerfect, Avaza, and Linguistica for staff to utilize when interacting with stakeholders who have limited English proficiency (LEP).  Translation services include interpretation (telephonic and in person), document translation, and video remote interpretation when needed. The Division’s staff LEP contact is the assistant manager of the Nashville Environmental Field Office, Carrie Ancell. The LEP contact serves as a liaison for staff for the use of LEP services.
