Office of Statewide Supports

The Office of Statewide Supports encompasses three teams (academic support, district support, and Professional Learning and Leadership) that lead a variety of support work for educators, school leaders, and districts.

The academic support team, comprised of eight regional Centers of Regional Excellence (CORE) teams, provides embedded one-on-one support to Tennessee’s school districts in implementing the department’s strategic priorities. These teams are staffed with academic specialists who are deployed to support school districts with strategic planning, execution, and monitoring impact of statewide priorities through partnerships to build leader capacity for continuous academic improvement.

The district support team has three grand regional CORE directors who work directly with district leaders to support high-level decision-making by providing information about department initiatives and thought partnership.

The Professional Learning and Leadership Team facilitates a variety of leadership development opportunities and pathways for teachers and school leaders, and ensures all professional learning occurring through the department includes strong and consistent adult learning experiences.
