Personal Finance
Personal Finance is a course designed to inform students how individual choices directly influence occupational goals and future earnings potential. Real world topics covered will include income, money management, spending and credit, as well as saving and investing.
High School Standards
The State Board of Education (SBE) has the authority to adopt academic standards for each subject area in grades K-12. Click on the course title to view a description of the course and the standards adopted by the SBE.
The State Board of Education sets the requirements for high school graduation. Per SBE Rule, students must achieve a half (.5) high school level unit of Personal Finance in order to graduate with a high school diploma. Three years of JROTC may be substituted for one-half unit of Personal Finance if the JROTC instructor attends the Personal Finance training.
