General Description:
The role of the ESL was created to assist in the teaching process, including supervising students in the classroom and other designated areas, creating lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and addressing inquiries from students, parents, and guardians regarding the curriculum and student development. Minimum Qualification

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Creates and administers assessments tailored to specific subjects to evaluate students' skills and knowledge levels, as well as to customize personalized learning strategies.
· Develops a curriculum in the classroom setting that encourages students' future development and gives them opportunities for growth.
· Informs parents or legal guardians about the progress of their child, provides expectations, discusses the student's accomplishments, and suggests ways to support or enhance academic goals at home.
· Evaluates student advancement toward specified objectives, expectations, and/or goals to give feedback to students, parents, and administration.
· Works with teachers, school staff, parents, and community resources to enhance student success, meet classroom goals, and contribute to the school's improvement plan.
· Advise students to help them enhance their performance, well-being, problem-solving skills, and address various personal concerns.
· Tailors’ instruction to accommodate the varying needs of students to create a successful program that aligns with district standards.
· Guides students to enhance their academic performance with a specific curriculum.
· Ensures student conduct to create a secure and effective learning atmosphere.
· Observes students in different educational settings such as classrooms, school grounds, and field trips to ensure a safe and supportive learning atmosphere.
· Attends various meetings and professional development events to exchange and/or gather necessary information for carrying out job responsibilities.
· Creates different types of written documents (such as grades, lesson plans that follow a specific order, communication with parents and students, exams, quizzes, attendance records, and notes) to track student development and fulfill necessary guidelines.
· Records incidents such as fights, possible child abuse, potential substance abuse, harassment, and zero tolerance violations to ensure the safety of students, promote a positive learning environment, and follow state laws and school board policies.
· Reacting to urgent situations to address immediate safety issues and/or guiding individuals to the appropriate personnel for assistance.
· Answers questions from different individuals (such as other teachers, parents, administrators, students, central office staff) to address problems, offer information, or give guidance.
· Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students.

Position Summary:
The Federal Grants Manager oversees grant activities for assigned Federal Education grants, including entering grant proposals and budgets, calculating local education agency allocations, monitoring and reconciling grant expenses, and managing reporting and grant closeout. This work supports students across Tennessee, especially vulnerable subgroups, by ensuring they receive the funding and resources needed for success.
Key Responsibilities:
· Throughout the 27-month life cycle of each assigned Federal Education grant, in collaboration with program directors, provide effective grant implementation and oversight, including archiving grant award notifications and other grant communications, collaborating on grant budget, completing grant entry in Edison (state accounting system), tracking expenditures and changes in funding, and regularly meeting with program team and key stakeholders to review grant balances and activities.
· Engage in analysis of existing systems and makes recommendations for improvement, lead testing, and enhancements.
· Implement identified action steps involving allocations, adjustments to project balances, and transfers of expenditures.
· Monitor sponsored project activity including cost overruns, cost sharing, and unallowable/administrative expenses throughout project lifecycle to ensure compliance. Perform reconciliation and overall analysis of expenditures and final award closeouts and ensure final reports and invoices are submitted timely to meet sponsor's requirements.
· Reconcile data from ePlan, Edison, and G5/PMS grant systems as applicable and complete any activities necessary to close out the grant. Solves problems associated with accuracy of financial information and grant related matters.
· Work collaboratively with department administrators to review costs for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness; ensure compliance with sponsor's requirements and agency’s policies. Works with departments and process partners to resolve issues.
· Prepare journal entries, as needed.
· Calculate LEA allocations for assigned grants using the process outlined in statute and developed and approved by TDOE leadership for Tennessee local education agencies. Create and share ePlan bulk load files. Complete sub-award activities in ePlan, including releases, reallocations, and subaward notifications.
· Download and process data reports from ePlan and Edison to track allocations, expenditures, and grant activities. Complete necessary grant reporting, including FFATA, Resource Mapping, EDFacts, and other reports as requested.
· Support the annual financial audit process and preparation of grant data files for auditors.
· For assigned Reimbursement Request Reviews, review all documentation provided by the LEA or subrecipient to match the reimbursement (1) to the penny by account and line item identified as high risk for the particular grant, (2) to the appropriate funding application and (3) measuring reasonableness, necessity, and allocability in accordance with 2 CFR §§ 200.403-405.
· Provide technical expertise and expert knowledge of grant and accounting procedures, agency policies, and sponsor regulations. Creates and shares technical assistance materials and training for internal and external stakeholders on assigned subjects.
· Research and attend trainings to further develop knowledge of ESEA/ESSA and other federal education grants, read all applicable TDOE newsletters monthly, attend applicable TDOE trainings, and if possible and where applicable, attend outside conferences and trainings.
· Participate in regular FPO and Federal Grants Management team meetings, positively contribute to team members projects and questions, and learn with and from team members.
· As needed, assist with implementing changes in accounting, regulatory, and compliance requirements impacting K-12 education.

Position Summary:
The Manager of Computer Science leads the statewide implementation of Computer Science education through strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and direct support for educators and districts. This role works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure all students have access to high-quality, standards-aligned Computer Science instruction.
A key area of responsibility includes oversight of the Computer Science Endorsement Pathway (CSEP), ensuring effective program delivery, participant support, and alignment with licensure requirements. The Manager provides both strategic direction and hands-on assistance to strengthen educator capacity and support sustainable implementation across K–12 systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead statewide Computer Science implementation efforts, including the planning, coordination, and oversight of the Computer Science Endorsement Pathway (CSEP)
- Assess K–12 instructional capacity and educator needs; develop and implement strategies to strengthen teacher preparation and long-term sustainability
- Design and support high-quality instructional guidance, lesson resources, and professional learning opportunities for educators
- Provide ongoing content expertise and technical assistance to CSEP participants to ensure successful program completion and effective classroom implementation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for CSEP participants; manage communications related to registration, enrollment, timelines, expectations, and completion requirements
- Collaborate with the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network (TSIN) and the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) Licensure Office to support Computer Science endorsement and licensure processes

Position Description: The Manager of Research & Data Use contributes to the Research & Data Use Team’s mission to conduct essential data support activities to facilitate the department’s data-driven decision-making process. Essential Functions:
· Management of Non-Public Information Requests Process: Support the Senior Director of Research & Data Use in coordinating the department’s non-public information requests process. Facilitate the establishment of data sharing agreements to ensure secure data sharing activities at all times.
· Management of the Tennessee Educator Survey: Collaborate with external partners to support the administration of the annual Tennessee Educator Survey. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Purchases all supplies, equipment, and services for the school by preparing requisitions, purchase orders, and receipts. Screens all requisitions and purchases orders for accuracy and proper justification and approvals.
- Enters and maintains Agency Term Contracts when required by the Central Procurement Office, writes product specifications for use in bidding competitively with vendors for supplies, equipment, and services. Serves as a liaison between the agency, Central Procurement Office, and vendors for procuring and/or amending contracts.
- Assists Business Manager to keep policies and procedures updated as required.
- Receiving of the other Pos
- Is responsible for mail-room operation
- Creates P5s as needed for supplies and stock
- Participates in trainings that will educate the employee on any changes from the Purchasing Division/Central Procurement Office and in any training needed within the Edison system.
- Is back up support for the storeroom.
- Mentor a TSD student in the TSD Work Based Learning Program
- Other duties as assigned

• Follows safety protocols and uses personal protective equipment as necessary.

Description: The HelpDesk/A-V specialist under the IT Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting systems, hardware, and software at all TSD campuses as first tier support. While infrequent, travel to the campuses in Nashville and Jackson may be required for IT support and projects.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience in technology specific field and one year or more of professional experience in HelpDesk support.
- Experience diagnosing or resolving problems with computer platforms and peripheral devices such as printers, copiers, scanners, interactive boards, etc.; installing computer hardware and software and/or diagnosing or resolving problems with hardware or software; deploying software via Microsoft Endpoint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and responds to HelpDesk support requests by email, messaging, phone, or in person.
- Troubleshooting and repairing technology equipment at a such as computing devices, printers, videophones, interactive boards, and other peripherals at an intermediate level.
- Documents frequently asked questions for general staff reference and detailed problem-solving steps for other Technology staff reference.
- Collects data related to support requests to identify problem services or equipment and training needs.
- Back-up for audio-visual set-up and assistance.

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Strong fluency in interpreting voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice in academic settings preferred (*note: voice-to-sign not required for CDI candidates)
• Ability to interpret for Deaf professionals in academic settings
• Demonstrated knowledge of Deaf Culture required
