    Nashville, TN—Today, the Tennessee Department of Education (department) announced four state finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching (PAEMST). The PAEMST award is the nation’s highest honor for U.S. K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers. The awards program is administered by the National Science Foundation (NSF) on behalf of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

    Nashville, TN – Today, the Tennessee Department of Education (department) shared additional details on Tennesseans’ enthusiastic response to the Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) Program, which launched less than one week ago on May 15. As of Monday, more than 38,000 applications have been submitted statewide. Roughly 50 percent of scholarship applications were from families with a qualified income.
