Managing your time well can help reduce stress and improve focus.

With a little planning, you can take control of your schedule and make the most of your workday.

Simple Ways to Manage Your Time

  • Prioritize: List daily tasks based on what matters most, how long each task may take and your schedule.
  • Schedule: Plan important tasks first. Break larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps.
  • Focus: Set aside uninterrupted time to work on tasks that require your full attention.
  • Know Your Best Time: Schedule harder tasks during the time of day when you feel most productive.
  • Plan Ahead: When possible, plan your week in advance. Check in with your team to stay aligned.
  • Pause: Take a moment to gather your thoughts before responding to unexpected challenges.

Plan Your Week

Writing things down can help you stay organized and focused. Consider planning your week using these categories:

  • Top priority for the week
  • Meetings and conversations to schedule
  • Decisions needed and who is responsible
  • Coaching or development activities
  • Items you must not miss
  • Possible barriers to meeting your top priority
