Dental Providers
To become a TennCare dental provider you must first obtain a Medicaid ID.

TennCare Children, Adult, and CoverKids Providers:
Prior authorization (treatment plan) submission process during the transition will be the following:
October 31, 2025
- Last day to submit prior authorizations to DentaQuest.
- Last day to submit provider or member complaints to DentaQuest.
- DentaQuest customer service lines deactivate at 5:00 PM CT on Friday, October 31, 2025. A recording will direct providers and members to the Renaissance customer service center.
November 1, 2025
- First day to submit prior authorizations and claims to Renaissance.
- Important: Claims submitted to Renaissance must have a service date of 11/1/2025 or later.
- DentaQuest will deny any claim for services conducted on or after 11/1/2025.
- Providers and members can call the Renaissance’s customer service center at 1-866-864-2526 on 11/3/2025 at 7:00 am CT. (Monday – Friday, 7:00 am CT to 5:00 pm CT)
January 10, 2026
- Last day to appeal DentaQuest denials that occurred before 11/1/2025.
January 31, 2026
- Prior authorizations from DentaQuest expire. Send a new request to Renaissance for any PAs not completed by this date.
February 28, 2026
- Last day to submit claims to DentaQuest for services occurring on or before 10/31/2025.
TennCare ECF and 1915(c) Waiver Providers:
Prior authorization (treatment plan) submission process for ECF and 1915(c) waiver members ONLY during the transition will be the following:
October 15, 2025
- Last day to submit prior authorizations for ECF and 1915(c) waiver members to DentaQuest.
- After 5 pm CT on 10/15/25, the DentaQuest provider portal will only accept emergency prior authorizations requests for ECF and 1915(c) waiver members.
October 31, 2025
- Last day of service eligible for DentaQuest payment.
- Important: DentaQuest will deny any service dated after 10/31/2025. Providers will need to submit claims for payment with dates of services 11/1/25 and after to Renaissance. Authorizations issued by DentaQuest prior to 11/1/2025 will be honored by Renaissance through 1/31/2026.
November 1, 2025
- Renaissance begins as TennCare’s new dental benefits manager, and all new prior authorizations should be submitted to Renaissance.
- Providers and members can call the Renaissance’s customer service center at 1-866-864-2526 on 11/3/2025 at 7:00 am CT. (Monday – Friday, 7:00 am CT to 5:00 pm CT) Renaissance’s prior authorization unit will begin full operation on 11/1/2025. Should a patient need an emergency prior authorization during this gap, submit your prior authorization using the DentaQuest portal with the word “emergency” in the note section/box 35 of the ADA Claim Form.
TennCare dental services, starting November 1st, are offered through Renaissance. For member specific information visit the Dental Services page on the TennCare website.
Dental providers can contact Renaissance at 866-864-2526 or through the Renaissance provider portal Dental Office Toolkit (DOT). The DOT contains information on utilization management, claim submission, covered services, pre-authorizations, appeals, clinical criteria and more.
