Provider Contact Information for Enrolling and Maintaining an Active Medicaid ID with TennCare
When you register with TennCare providers are required to use an active phone number and email addresses for communications. Your office will receive updates, reminders, required profile requests, and other news from TennCare via email, therefore emails must be updated in Provider Data Management System (PDMS) and/or Data Spring (Formerly Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare/CAQH).
Why does TennCare need accurate contact information from all providers?
TennCare relies on up-to-date provider contact information to ensure timely communication about important enrollment, compliance, and program updates. Maintaining accurate details helps prevent delays, interruptions, or missed requirements that could impact your enrollment as a provider in the TennCare program. If your office’s email address is attached to an office director, manager/administrator, provider, or business office coordinator, it is important to update your email in PDMS/Data Spring (Formerly CAQH Proview) if the person in this position retires or leaves that position.
TennCare may need to contact you for several reasons, including:
- Enrollment follow-up: To request missing or additional information needed to process your application
- Practice verification: To confirm your practice location and ensure directory accuracy
- Revalidation reminders: Federal and state regulations require all TennCare providers to revalidate their enrollment at least every three years
- Program updates: To share information about new initiatives, policy changes, or system enhancements
- Profile maintenance: To request updates to your PDMS and/or Data Spring (Formerly CAQH) provider profiles to keep records current
- Provider communications: To distribute newsletters, surveys, and other engagement materials
- Urgent notifications: To deliver time-sensitive alerts that may affect your practice or administrative staff
