Head of livestock = maximum number of single type, regardless of sex or age, at one time during the last 12 months.
Goats/Sheep can be combined to meet minimum number requirement.
*Applicant must meet at least one minimum program requirement at time of application.
**This program is not available for individuals qualifying for the Beginning Farmer Option.

Eligible Items

Fence-line Concrete Bunk Feeding System — this system allows feed to be placed within concrete bunks located along an existing fence-line that is easily accessed from a road or farm lot as opposed to in-field feeding. Eligible items include j-style concrete bunks, cable/railing, and concrete pad.

Requirements

  • System setup must include minimum purchase of:

­J-style concrete bunk feeder – new only
­Cable/railing – must extend the length of the system
­Concrete pad – minimum 15’ width and 6” depth

  • System must be built outdoor within a fence-line (new or existing) with access from a road or a farm lot.
  • Cover/roof, fencing, geotextile, gravel, roads, site prep, and standalone feeding pads are not eligible for cost share reimbursement.
  • Can the fence-line feeding system have a roof? Yes. However, roof materials & labor are not eligible for cost share reimbursement. Receipts must be itemized.
  • Can the fence-line feeding system be built within a structure, such as a barn? No. The fence-line feeding system must be built outdoor within a fence-line (new or existing) with access from a road or farm lot.

Reimbursement

Reimbursements will be based upon eligible purchase. Reimbursement for labor cannot exceed 30% of total reimbursement. Material and labor costs must be itemized on invoice.
