Captain Cecil Harvey

Captain Cecil Harvey is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He began his career with the Tennessee Highway Patrol after completing the THP Training Academy in 2005 and was assigned to Hamilton County as a road trooper.

In 2016, Captain Harvey was selected for the New Entrant Program as a Commercial Vehicle Safety Auditor. He advanced to the role of Administrative Sergeant for the Chattanooga District in 2021. He completed the
Southeastern Leadership Academy in October 2022, where he received the Leadership Award for his exemplary performance during the ninth session of SELA. In 2024, he was promoted to Administrative Lieutenant for the district, and in 2026, he assumed his current role as Captain of District 2 in Chattanooga.

Captain Harvey has served as an instructor in multiple areas, including radar/lidar, new supervisor orientation, and commercial vehicle enforcement training.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Captain Harvey enjoys spending time with his family, attending sporting events, and perfecting the craft of smoking BBQ meats.
