Major Christopher Dye

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Major Dye began his law enforcement career with the Maury County Sheriff’s Department and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Tennessee Highway Patrol in 2001 in the CVE Division. He graduated from the Trooper Academy in 2002 and was assigned to the Nashville District as a patrol trooper.

In 2006, Major Dye joined the Training Center staff, where he trained cadets until his promotion to Administrative Sergeant in the Lawrenceburg District in 2013. He was promoted to Special Programs Lieutenant in 2017, also in the Lawrenceburg District. Following departmental restructuring in 2021, he transferred to the Nashville District as Administrative Lieutenant and was promoted to Captain in 2023. Major Dye was promoted to his current position in the Command Staff in April 2026.

Major Dye has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the well-being of his fellow troopers, making a lasting impact through his work as a Peer Supporter and Coordinator, as well as a Regional Coordinator for Critical Incident Stress Debriefing.

Major Dye holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bethel University and a Master of Science in Public Safety from Tennessee Technological University. He is also a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command (2014) and the FBI National Academy, Class 295 (2025).
