Commissioner of Transportation

Will Reid was appointed Commissioner of Transportation by Governor Bill Lee on July 10, 2025. He oversees a statewide transportation system including highways, rail, airports, waterways, and transit. 

Commissioner Reid has led initiatives to improve project delivery with a primary goal to "deliver as promised."

Our Four Regions

TDOT divides Tennessee’s 95 counties into four administrative regions, with regional offices in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Jackson. This structure helps the department manage transportation planning, maintenance, and operations more efficiently across East, Middle, and West Tennessee.
