Will Reid serves as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), having been appointed by Governor Bill Lee in July 2025. With more than 25 years of transportation experience in both the public and private sectors, Reid spends his second decade at TDOT leading major transportation initiatives and advancing innovative approaches to project delivery.

As Commissioner, Reid is focused on delivering a safe, reliable, and fiscally responsible transportation system that supports Tennessee's growth and economic competitiveness. He champions accountability, transparency, and fiscal stewardship, fostering a culture focused on timely decision-making and delivering as promised. Under his leadership, TDOT developed its first fiscally constrained 10-Year Project Plan to guide transportation investments across the state.

A key priority of Reid's leadership is overseeing the development and implementation of Tennessee's first Public-Private Partnership (P3) transportation program. Building on authorities provided by the Transportation Modernization Act, he is advancing innovative transportation delivery solutions that leverage private-sector expertise and investment while safeguarding public resources.

Known for fostering a culture of accountability and timely decision-making, Reid helps position TDOT to meet the transportation needs of one of the nation's fastest-growing states while maintaining a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and delivering on commitments to Tennesseans.

A licensed Professional Engineer and graduate of the University of Memphis with a degree in Civil Engineering, Reid and his family live in Franklin, Tennessee. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys fishing and hunting and has a deep appreciation for Tennessee's natural resources.
