Vote to Elect State Employee Reps Starts May 6

Wednesday, May 01, 2019 | 11:05am

From May 6-24, state employees will have the opportunity to elect their representatives on boards that oversee their insurance benefits and retirement.

Benefits Administration, the division of Finance & Administration that oversees the State Group Insurance Program, asks state employees to elect two state employee representatives to serve three-year terms on the State Insurance Committee.

The Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) Board of Trustees oversees the retirement plan for state employees. Every three years, TCRS administers an election where state employees elect two state employees to serve as members of the Board of Trustees.

The upcoming term for new state employee representatives on both the TCRS Board of Trustees and the State Insurance Committee begins July 1, 2019. State employees can vote for candidates who submitted an application to appear on the official ballot following emails sent from TCRS and Benefits Administration on February 6, 2019. Their election is being conducted May 6-24, and state employees are encouraged to vote.

On Monday, May 6 ElectionsOnline will email all state employees on behalf of TCRS and Benefits Administration. The email will provide a link for state employees to vote electronically. Please note that the email from ElectionsOnline has been authorized by the Tennessee Department of Treasury.

Once you click the link to the ballot provided in the ElectionsOnline email, you will see a welcome message, including instructions. To see the candidate’s biographical information, click the  candidate’s name. To cast your vote, select the button to the left of the candidate’s name.
