No Surprises Act & Transparency in Coverage

Machine-readable Files and the Federal Transparency in Coverage Rule

Machine-readable files are available as required by the Federal Transparency in Coverage Rule. They include in-network negotiated rates and out-of-network allowed amounts. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.

Be advised: Each of these files is in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) format and may be as large as one terabyte, or TB, in file size. The files have significant system requirements for use. Please ensure you have the required memory capacity and hardware and software capabilities before attempting to download.

Options for opening the JSON files:

  1. Windows: Notepad
  2. Mac: Apple TextEdit
  3. Download the file(s) and save as a PDF
