Ballad Health and Cigna have reached an agreement and Ballad will remain in the Cigna LocalPlus and Cigna Open Access Plus networks. Cigna will be sending letters to impacted members notifying them of this agreement.

Ballad Health will potentially be leaving the Cigna LocalPlus and Cigna Open Access Plus networks effective Jan. 1, 2025. Cigna and Ballad Health are continuing negotiations under the terms of the state’s Certificate of Public Advantage. Letters from Cigna are scheduled to be mailed to impacted members no later than Dec. 1, 2024 if an agreement or an extension has not been reached at that time. Benefits Administration will be sending notification the week of Nov. 4, 2024 to Cigna members in the following counties: Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington.

 

 

Maury Regional Medical Center

Maury Regional Medical Center and Cigna have reached a verbal agreement and are finalizing contracts. This agreement is for Cigna’s Local Plus and Open Access Plus networks. Cigna will mail letters to impacted members regarding this update.

Maury Regional Medical Center will potentially be leaving the Cigna LocalPlus and Cigna Open Access Plus networks effective Dec. 1, 2024. Cigna is working in good faith with Maury Regional Medical Center to come to a new contract agreement to keep Maury Regional Medical Center in the Cigna networks. Letters from Cigna are scheduled to be mailed to impacted members on Nov. 1, 2024 if an agreement or an extension has not been reached at that time. We will provide more information as the negotiations develop.

 

 

Murfreesboro Medical Clinic

Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Cigna have reached a verbal agreement and are finalizing contracts. This agreement is for Cigna’s Local Plus and Open Access Plus networks.

Murfreesboro Medical Clinic will potentially be leaving the Cigna LocalPlus and Cigna Open Access Plus networks effective Jan. 1, 2025 at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic’s request. Cigna is working in good faith with Murfreesboro Medical Clinic to come to a new contract agreement to keep Murfreesboro Medical Clinic in the Cigna networks. Letters from Cigna are scheduled to be mailed to impacted members on Dec. 1, 2024 if an agreement or an extension has not been reached at that time. University Physicians’ Association, Inc.

UPA and Cigna have reached a verbal agreement and are finalizing contracts. This is a three year agreement for Cigna’s Local Plus and Open Access Plus networks.

UPA and Cigna have agreed to an extension through 10/31/24 as they continue negotiations. Letters to impacted members will mail on 10/1/24 if an extension or agreement has not been reached.

UPA will potentially be leaving the Cigna Networks effective 9/15 at UPA’s request. Cigna is working to renegotiate the contract terms and keep UPA as a part of the OAP and Local Plus networks. We will provide more information as the negotiations develop. UT Medical Center contract status is not under negotiation at this time and will remain in network.

 

 

CHI Memorial Hospitals and Providers

BCBST has announced that CHI Memorial Hospitals and providers will be leaving Blue Network S effective July 1, 2024. Those hospitals and providers are also expected to leave Blue Network P effective July 1, 2024. BCBST plans to mail letters to impacted members in both networks. BCBST members who get non-emergency care from CHI Memorial doctors or one of the following facilities on or after July 1, should anticipate paying more for that care.

• CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson, Hixson, Tenn.

• CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

• CHI Memorial Parkway Imaging, Ringgold, Ga.
