Blake Ramsey, Assistant Commissioner for Business Development

Blake Ramsey serves as Assistant Commissioner for Business Development for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. He previously served as Director of Business Development for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and brings experience in agriculture, economic development and international trade. Ramsey works to connect Tennessee businesses and industry partners with new markets and opportunities.

Before joining state government, Ramsey held several international trade roles with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, including Director of Trade Shows, Associate Director of International Trade Programs and Manager of International Trade Programs. In 2024, he received NASDA’s Most Outstanding Staff Award and was appointed by USDA to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Processed Foods.

Ramsey holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Business Analytics from the University of Georgia, a Master of Agribusiness from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University.

A native of Texas, Ramsey grew up on a cattle farm in Brenham. He now lives in Nashville with his wife, Maria, and their two rescue dogs, Georgia and Texas, and enjoys cheering on the Texas A&M Aggies.
