ITS Qualified Products List

Overview

The Intelligent Transportation Systems Qualified Products List (ITS/QPL) is a list of products that have been shown to work reliably for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). Staff in Construction, Maintenance, and IT can use this list to find devices approved for the SmartWay system in Tennessee.

Products on the list must still complete all required testing, integration, approval, and acceptance steps.

Products are considered acceptable for SmartWay only after they have been tested and verified by TDOT or other approved organizations. All devices must be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The list does not include every product used on SmartWay, but it covers the product types shown.

The list is updated as needed.

Department Rights

The Department may reject any product that does not perform well in the tests described in the Evaluation Procedures.
The Department may also remove any product from the ITS/QPL if it does not perform well under real‑world conditions.

Use this publication along with the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Maintenance Specifications, Special Provisions, Technical Special Provisions, Plans, and any other documents that apply at the time.

Future updates or changes will be sent to the holders of this publication to keep the information current.
