ITS Qualified Products List
Overview
The Intelligent Transportation Systems Qualified Products List (ITS/QPL) identifies products that have demonstrated reliable performance for TDOT.
Staff in Construction, Maintenance, and IT can use this list to identify devices approved for Tennessee’s SmartWay system.
Products on the list must still complete all required testing, integration, approval, and acceptance steps before use.
Products are acceptable for SmartWay only after TDOT or other approved organizations test and verify them.
All devices must be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions during installation and operation.
The list does not include every product used on SmartWay, but it covers the product types shown.
The list is updated as needed to reflect current products and approval information.
Department Rights
- The Department may reject products that do not perform well during tests described in the Evaluation Procedures.
- The Department may also remove products from the ITS/QPL if they perform poorly under real-world conditions.
Use of This Publication
Use this publication with the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Maintenance Specifications, Special Provisions, and Technical Special Provisions.
Also use it with project plans and other applicable documents in effect at that time.
Future updates or changes will be sent to publication holders to keep the information current.
