Jackson ITS Architecture

Overview of the Plan

The Jackson Regional ITS Architecture and Deployment Plan describes a long‑term strategy for developing, integrating, and operating Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in the Jackson Region.

Planning Leadership and Stakeholders

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) led the development of the plan in partnership with the Jackson Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). The planning process included input from traffic, transit, emergency management, and public safety representatives at the local, state, and federal levels.

Regional Description

The Jackson Region includes all of Madison County in southwestern Tennessee.

Stakeholder Engagement and Timeline

To gather information for the plan, TDOT held a stakeholder workshop and conducted interviews with participating agencies. These activities took place in 2014, and the plan was completed in 2015.
