Lakeway Regional Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Architecture and Deployment Plan

Overview

The Lakeway Regional ITS Architecture and Deployment Plan describes a long‑range approach to deploying, integrating, and operating ITS across the Lakeway Region.

Project lead and timeline

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) led the plan update in coordination with the Lakeway Area Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (LAMTPO). The update was completed in Summer 2017.

Region covered

The plan covers Hamblen County and Jefferson County in East Tennessee, including:

  • Traffic operations
  • Public transit
  • Emergency management
  • Public safety

Participants represented local, state, and federal agencies.

How input was gathered

TDOT and LAMTPO conducted two (2) stakeholder workshops and interviews with stakeholder agencies to collect feedback and guidance for the plan.
