Chattanooga Interstate 24 Corridor Priority Investment
Hamilton County
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will utilize the Planning and Environmental Linkages study (PEL) to the Interstate 24 Corridor, from the Georgia State Line to and including the Interstate 75 Interchange. Several projects along the corridor are either in preliminary design, in construction, or recently completed. This study will be a comprehensive approach to the operational and rehabilitation improvements to the entire I-24 corridor. The PEL study will focus on significant enhancements to the 13-mile I-24 corridor and includes various interchanges, with particular focus on I-24 at I-124 (U.S. 27) and I-24 at Rossville Blvd (U.S. 27), an assessment of safety issues along the corridor including ramps, roadway geometrics and interchange configurations, and other locations impacting the corridor, an assessment of bridge condition and suitability for rehabilitation or replacement, standalone or in conjunction with operational recommendations, and the potential for future Choice Lanes.
