State Route 8 (Signal Mountain Boulevard) Spot Improvements Project
The proposed project for State Route 8 (Signal Mountain Blvd) in Hamilton County includes repairs and upgrades to drainage systems, slope stabilization at various locations, and rock fall mitigation.
Purpose and Need
The section of State Route 8 (Signal Mountain Blvd) is classified as an Urban Minor Arterial route. These improvements will reduce potential roadway failures and improve drainage, making Signal Mountain Boulevard a safer and more reliable route.
During construction, the road will be reduced to one lane with temporary signals to control the flow of traffic along the two-lane segment of State Route 8 (Signal Mountain Blvd) which is above the Space House and continuing to the top of the mountain. There will be no closures during the World’s Longest Yard Sale. There will be constant coordination with first responders and local route users before and during any planned closures.
