Pesticides Reciprocity
Tennessee reciprocates in honoring current commercial certification by other states with whom it has an agreement.
To apply for reciprocity, click the following the link below to access and submit a Pesticide Reciprocity Form
To fill out the form you will need provide the following :
- Name
- Address
- Phone
- Certification State; ID number and Expiration date
- Category of Certification
- A copy of your current certification card.
Fill out the form and hit submit at the bottom of the page.
After submission, someone will contact you concerning the status of your request.

Helpful Information for Reciprocating States
Alabama – We reciprocate Private Applicators and only for certification categories 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 11.
Arkansas – We reciprocate only for certification categories 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10. We no longer reciprocate with any licenses. We reciprocate with Private Applicators. No C07 or C12.
Georgia – We reciprocate Private Applicators and only for certification categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10. No C07 or C12.
Kentucky – We reciprocate with Private Applicators and Certification Categories (1-14) EXCEPT for category 7. We no longer reciprocate with any licenses. No C07.
Louisiana – We reciprocate with Certification categories 1,3, 4, 6, and 11 only. No C07 or C12.
Mississippi – We reciprocate with MS on all certification categories (1-13) EXCEPT for category 12. MS does not have a Pesticide Dealer category. MS does not reciprocate with TN Private Applicators. No C12.
Missouri – Signed the reciprocal agreement for aerial applicators only, which will include Ag Plant, Forest Pest Control, Aquatic, and Right of Way. No C07 or C12.
North Carolina – We reciprocate certification with NC in the following parts of category 7 only (WDO, GRC, Fumigation and Bird Control). We will reciprocate with Private Applicators for now; they are in the process of starting to test their Private Applicators. This does not apply to subcategories other than those cited.
South Carolina – We reciprocate with SC in all certification categories EXCEPT for categories 12–16. We reciprocate with Private Applicators.
DOD – Any person holding a valid DOD certificate permitting the purchase and use of restricted use pesticides and state limited use pesticides shall be considered as certified in TN.
Virginia – Private Applicators Only.
Note: Tennessee does not reciprocate with any state for a Tennessee licensing category, only certifications.
