What is the pesticides section authorized to investigate?

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture Pesticide Section is authorized to investigate cases involving:

Alleged pesticide misuse
Pesticide drift
Substandard termite treatment if there is a current contract
Failure to issue a termite contract
Failure to retreat active termite infestations
Pesticide mislabeling
Illegal Pesticide applicators
Illegal pesticide sales
Illegal pesticide manufacturing
Wood Destroying Insect Infestation Inspection Reports

What is the pesticides section unable to do?

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture Pesticide Section does NOT have the authority to regulate the following:

Pricing of pesticide
Pricing of the pesticide application service
Contractual disputes over payment
Non-Pesticide services

Are consumer complaints public record?

Yes, all consumer complaints submitted to the Tennessee Département of Agriculture Pesticide Section are subject to the public records act Tenn. Code Ann. § 10-7-503(a)(2)
