Region 2 Dove Fields

Crop status and leased fields as of August 30, 2024 . Leased fields will be posted by county and listed below the WMA fields the last week of August.   Please check this page often for changes and additions

Private lease fields will be listed after the WMAs and are only open on the listed hunt dates.  Please do not visit fields until the day of the hunt.

Capacity may be limited on some fields depending on hunter turnout.


Region 2 Wildlife Management Areas

Crops planted:  100 acres total:  9 acres milo; 20 acres millet bush hogged, 7 acres corn; 1 acres sunflowers

Hunt Dates:  Open with statewide seasons. (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1).  TWRA will assist with parking and field access on opening day only starting at 9:00 am CST.

Hunt Dates:  Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1).  Hunting from designate fields only

Directions:  From Ashland City head west on highway 49 crossing the cumberland river bridge. Turn right on bluff creek boat ramp access (Jamestown Road). Turn left onto the gravel road and another left turn into the WMA gate. Fields will be on your left.

Hunt DatesClosed Sept 1  --- Youth hunt Sept 7; All hunters Sept 9, 14, 21,28.   To reserve a spot for youth hunt, contact Officer Hayden Cook, Williamson County Wildlife Officer, information on TWRA website for youth event. Register for event.

Directions:  From Exit 42 on 840, travel south on Horton Hwy (41A), take a right at the split which now becomes Hwy31 ALT, and continue straight, cross the Harpeth River and the dove field will be on the left.

Hunt Dates:  Same as statewide seasons (Season opens at 12:00 noon on September 1).   

Directions:  From Clarksville head west on highway 79. Turn left on dotsonville road. At the stop sign turn left on Dunbar. Turn left on chester harris road. Turn at WMA sign and follow field road through gate to dove field.

Crops planted:  40 acres total:  37 wheat burned; 3 acres corn

Hunt Dates:  Sept. 1, 2024, and each Saturday and Sunday thereafter, and Labor Day during the first and second segments of the statewide season. Shooting from staked positions only. On Sept. 1, 2024, staked positions will be assigned by a drawing held on-site at 10 a.m. and hunters must check out at the conclusion of their hunt. Successful applicants must be at their staked position at the start of shooting hours. Shooting stakes are first come first serve after Sept 1.

Hunt Dates:  Sept 1 @ 12:00 noon.  Same as the statewide season.  You may not enter the field or reserve hunting locations till 11:00 on opening day.   

Directions:  From Columbia, Tennessee take US 43S, exit Rt HWY 20, travel 2 miles, turn Left on HWY 240, travel 10 miles, turn on Rt on HWY 241 (Napier Rdoa), travel 2.7miles, the fields on both sides of the road is the dove fields. The address is  276 Napier Road  Lawrenceburg, TN 38464.

Hunt Dates:  Youth Only Sept 7th , All ages Sept 8th through remainder of season.  Must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult 21 or older who is not required to have license.

Directions:  From Hwy 64W take Mingo Road 3 miles. The field is on the left.

Hunt Dates:  Open Sept 1 (noon) with statewide season.

Directions:  From Clarksville head south on highway 13. Turn left on old highway 48 (Marthas Chapel Road). Turn left on Southside road. Follow Southside road into riverbottom. Millet field will be at intersection of Shelton Ferry Road.

Hunt Dates:  Open Sept 1 (noon) with statewide season. On opening day, no parking at boat ramp. There are two parking areas, one for each field, park here so TWRA personnel can collect data on the hunt, thank you.

Directions:  From highway 50, turn north on Fred White Rd. Continue north until you come to the duck river bridge. The fields are on the right and left just before the boat ramp.

Region 2 Leased Fields

Freeman Farm

Crops planted:   37 acres corn chopped;wheat top sown

Hunt Dates:   Sept. 1 (Noon),  2, 7

Directions:  From Pulaski- head southwest on Minor Hill Hwy. Take a right on Fall River Rd, turn left on Shannon Creek Rd., Take a right on Charlie Howell Rd., Charlie Howell Rd will turn into Little Rd., Parking and Field will be on the Right.

Williams Farm - Field 1 Youth Only

Crops planted:   17 acres wheat top sown, millet chopped

Hunt Dates:   Sept. 1 (Noon) , 2, 7 -- Park on the left side of the road for the first two fields, park near the barn on the field at the end of the road, and field on the right as you enter is youth only.

Directions:  From Take HWY 431 from Fayetteville turn left on Fishing Ford Road, turn left on Williams Road

Vanhooser

Directions:  Take exit 22 off I-65. Turn left(north) on 31A towards Cornersville. Turn right on hwy 129(east). Follow signs and turn right in London Rd. Field is after the curve on the right.

Toombs  

Crops planted:    50 acres of corn chopped and top sown wheat

Hunt Dates:   Sept. 1(noon), 7 (youth only til noon) , 8 -- Sept 7 from sunrise til noon is youth only.

Directions:   Drive down hwy 31 south out of Columbia. Turn right onto bigbyville rd. Approximately one and a half miles on your left will be the field. Parking on the right.

Bone --Phillips Rd Field

Crops planted:  40 acres millet hayed, wheat top sown

Hunt Dates: Sept. 1(noon), 6, 7

Directions: From I-40, Exit 239B for 1.8 miles, turn right onto US 70N. East for 3.8 miles, turn left onto Old Rome Pike for 1.5 miles. Left onto Philips Rd. for .5 miles on left.

Bone -- Spring Creek Field

Crops planted:   40 acres millet hayed, wheat top sown

Hunt Dates:   Sept. 1(noon), 6, 7  

Directions:  From I-40E, Exit 239B, US-70W for 1.8 miles, turn right onto US-70N for 2.7 miles, turn left onto Spring Creek Rd. for 1.7 miles. Field on left with signs.

Howard Field

Directions:   From I-40, exit 239A for .4 miles. Right onto Maddox-Simpson Parkway for .4 miles. Left onto TN-266S (Cainsville Rd.) for 16miles. Left onto Oregon Rd. for 2.2 miles.
