The Safety and Work Zones section is part of the TDOT Traffic Design Division.

• It helps the State Traffic Engineer support TDOT staff, local governments, and elected officials.
• The section focuses on safety and everyday traffic issues along Tennessee’s state highways and interstates.
• This team works closely with Region Traffic Engineers to review traffic studies and provide clear policy guidance.
• The team also helps solve traffic problems that are unique to each region statewide.
