Best Practices/Innovations
The Office of Criminal Justice Programs, in an effort to be good stewards of state and federal funding and to provide quality impactful programs, encourages the use of evidenced based programs (EBP) and techniques in grant projects. This is in alignment with the federal emphasis of replicating programming that is known to be effective. However, there is still room for innovation. Expanding known EBP to new populations or problem areas is one way innovation can expand the depth and breadth of possible solutions to crime problems and victim services. Through innovation, new strategies are developed, tested and retested and proven (or not) to be effective; thus leading to new EBPs.
