Becoming An Outdoors Woman (BOW)
Outdoor Skills Program for Women
Since 1991, the TWRA has been encouraging women to get outdoors through the Becoming An Outdoors Woman (BOW) program. This program exists in all 50 states and several Canadian provinces, with many offering multiple opportunities.
BOW is designed for women who are interested in learning outdoor skills that are new to the outdoors.
The TWRA events include canoe trips, muzzleloader workshops, basic archery, basic firearms, reading the woods, ATV operation, Dutch oven cooking, fly-fishing, nature photography, and much, much more. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency hosts several BOW events every year. There are one-day workshops and an entire weekend workshop filled with classes and activities every aspiring outdoorswoman will enjoy.
The TWRA Event Calendar will be updated regularly with new events.
BOW Yearly Weekend Event - Sign Up
The weekend-long event is held once a year. A registration link will be added to the event calendar in the spring of each year. Registration for the workshop is on a first-come, first-served basis. However, two weeks' priority will be given to first-time participants. The cost of the workshop will include meals and camping.
