The Strategic Prevention Framework has five key steps:

Evidence-Based Practice Workgroup
Led by Vanderbilt University, the Evidence-Based Practice Workgroup has three goals:
- Identify environmental strategies that are effective for preventing alcohol and prescription drug abuse
- Identify conditions that promote and/or hinder effective use of evidence-based programs
- Provide support to the Division of Substance Abuse Services and community anti-drug coalitions to facilitate implementation of effective strategies
