Public Hearing for Tennessee Dairy Promotion Committee Rule Amendments Announced

NASHVILLE –There will be a public hearing before the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to consider promulgation of amendments to the rules of the Tennessee Dairy Promotion Committee, Chapter 0080-03-07.

The hearing will take place March 16 at 9 a.m. CDT in the Porter Building at Ellington Agricultural Center, located at 436 Hogan Road in Nashville, Tenn.

The proposed amendments will allow individual dairy producers to petition the Dairy Promotion Committee for a redirection of the producer’s assessment to a qualified state or regional program of the producer’s choice, or to the National Dairy Promotion Board.

Written and/or oral comments will be accepted at the hearing. Written comments not submitted at the public hearing will be included in the hearing record only if received by the close of business, 4:30 p.m. CDT, on the date of the hearing. The hearing will be conducted in the manner prescribed by the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, T. C. A. § 4-5-201 et seq.
