Urban & Community Wood Utilization
Urban & Community Wood Utilization is an innovative approach to maximizing the value of urban trees when they fall or must be removed. Utilization involves transforming wood sourced from communities into valuable products such as slabs, furniture, and biochar.
What is an Urban Wood Network?
An urban wood network is a community of foresters, arborists, woodworkers, artisans, and wood product professionals who collaborate to ensure that the wood from removed or fallen trees doesn't go to waste. This network can foster knowledge exchange, sustainable practices, and the efficient utilization of urban wood.
Tennessee Division of Forestry is catalyzing the development of an urban wood network for the state of Tennessee.
