Urban & Community Forestry Assistance
This grant provides funding in four key areas:
- Urban and Community Forestry Management: Supports a full range of community forestry activities, from canopy assessment and planning to planting and long-term maintenance.
- Tree Planting: Focuses on projects that address tree equity, reduce urban heat, replace trees lost to storms, and create new greenspaces.
- Program Development or Capacity Building: Helps establish or grow tree boards, nonprofit organizations, and advocacy groups dedicated to urban forestry.
- Workforce Development: Expands opportunities to build a diverse, skilled workforce in the field of urban forestry through outreach and training programs.

- Municipalities & other local units of government
- Nonprofit organizations
- Educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities
Available Funds
Eligible applicants may apply for grants up to $40,000. Minimum amount requested must be $5,000.
