Electronic Certificate of Veterinary Inspection

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Animal Health will cease offering paper CVIs on June 30, 2027, or until our supply runs out.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture encourages accredited veterinarians to use an electronic Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (eCVI) when a CVI is needed for intrastate or interstate movement of animals. For a full list of electronic CVI’s approved by the National Assembly of State Animal Health Officials (NASAHO), please visit their website at https://usaha.org/sahoapprovedecvi/.

• eCVIs are limited for use in the following species:  alpaca, bison, bovine, caprine, cervidae, equine, llama, ovine, and porcine

• Can be completed in rural settings and submitted once connected to the internet
