The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) today announced a significant victory against illegal alcohol sales in Tennessee. A federal court approved a settlement that includes injunctive relief and over $50,000 in civil penalties levied against five online liquor stores unlawfully shipping alcohol direct to consumers without proper licensing.

The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) received a grant of $140,000 from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) for increased alcohol compliance operations across Tennessee.

Four Tennessee state departments are partnering to raise awareness of the dangers of excessive alcohol use, underage drinking, and drunk driving. The campaign will include a press conference, a joint social media campaign, and increased law enforcement operations. The joint social media campaign will provide education on safe alcohol practices and substance abuse treatment options.

The TABC has leveraged the award-winning MyTN app to create a nationwide first digital alcohol server permit available for all 147,000 state alcohol servers. Alcohol servers will now be able to add their state-issued permit into the wallet of their smartphones. This digital permit will allow hospitality employers to verify permit status immediately and hire future candidates without delay.
