Directions and Description
Directions: if you are coming from Decaturville head east on Highway 100. Turn right on Mt. Carmel Road; after crossing the Whites Creek bridge turn left on Pevahouse Camp Road. Follow signs to the refuge gate. Lat/Long: 35.49413 -87.98208
Cypress Pond Refuge is closed to all forms of access and use from Nov 15 to the Monday after the last youth waterfowl hunt. The refuge gate remains closed all year except for the opening days of the dove season each year. Please note hunting seasons. License fees may apply.

Description: Cypress Pond Refuge is located in Decatur County Tennessee and is approximately 585 acres. The Refuge sits on the banks of the Tennessee River and is comprised of upland hardwoods, agricultural fields, and wetlands. The wetland has lots of upland wildlife.
Regulations & Dates
Closed to all forms of use and trespass from Nov. 15, 2023, until after the last youth/veterans waterfowl hunt.
CWD Carcass Transportation Regulations Apply
Big Game and Small Game are the same as statewide seasons, except as noted. Small game seasons will be open on the Monday after the last youth waterfowl/veterans hunt through the remainder of the season.
Closed to Waterfowl and Fall turkey hunting.
Closed to dog training.
Turkey - One (1) non-quota hunt: April 12 – May 4, 2025. One (1) male bearded turkey, counts toward statewide bag limit.
Young Sportsman Turkey - Same as statewide season.
Dove - Sept. 1, 2024 noon - sunset. Continuing with the statewide season.
