Description: The TWRA leases Eagle Creek Wildlife Management Area. The TWRA manages the property's habitat for wildlife hunting opportunities. The property is in different stages of clear-cuts and pines with some hardwoods in the hollows along the streams. This 22,000-acre property has hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, and small game.
Eagle Creek WMA regulations and dates are the same as statewide seasons and you do not need a special permit from the landowner, only the applicable TWRA hunting licenses and WMA permit.
Many visitors will recognize the historic log cabin erected by TWRA that was once used as the deer check-in station. Across Copelan Rd from the cabin is the primitive camping area for hunters, which is first come first serve, no sign-in required. Wild Turkey, White-tailed Deer, squirrels, rabbits, and other game species use this area and are often seen.
