TennCare Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC)

The TennCare Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) gives TennCare and CoverKids members, their families, and caregivers a chance to share their thoughts and ideas about important topics like getting health care, applying for or renewing coverage, and understanding the letters we send. The council’s goal is to provide information that improves the TennCare experience and leads to high quality, cost-effective care.

The BAC is made up of TennCare members or their legal guardians.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) through the State Plan requirements (42 CFR 431.12) established the “ongoing operation of a public Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) with a dedicated Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) comprised of current and former Medicaid beneficiaries, their family members, and caregivers, to advise the State Medicaid agency on matters of concern related to policy development, and matters related to the effective administration of the Medicaid program.”

Qualified individuals can apply to be on the Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) by completing the online application. TennCare will also make paper applications available upon request. Email Dana.V.Moore@tn.gov to request a paper application. Paper applications should be returned to:
